Bio
What's An Yhprum?
Pronounced "Ee-Firm"
Yhprum was started in 2024 by Rob Napholz and Will Orlyk. After years of performing in Illinois as an acoustic duo, they decided to bring in a live band to make their sound bigger and better. The additions of Charlie Petralia, Jack Rudolf, and Kyle Smith solidified an intense lineup propelled by Charlie's silky-smooth shredding and Jack's tenacity behind the drum kit. These components giving Kyle the freedom to groove away on the bass guitar set a foundation for the impending goliath that would be become the Yhprum we know today.
Yhprum's Law is the inverse of Murphy's Law. Where Murphy's Law states, "Anything that can't work, won't work," Yhprum's law states, "Anything that can work, will work." This idea seemed to be a good fit for the group and would serve as a motivational tool for their musical expansion.
Given the virtuosity amongst members of the group, Yhprum has been able to succeed in keeping their music genre-fluid while maintaining a main core sound. While the concept works around an acoustic-based rock band, that has not stopped them from diving into areas of funk, jazz, blues, alternative, prog, hip-hop, RnB, yacht rock, and punk. This flexibility has provided them with various opportunities to play with a wide range of local acts and events.
In March 2026 Yhprum released their self-titled debut, a showcase of the band's roots and a launching pad for their incredible sound. However, the nine released songs don't even cover half of the material that Yhprum is ready to bring into the world. With another EP and album written and ready to go, the band is working hard to get back into the studio and share more of their music with you.
